Over
80,000 people in London and the Thames Valley District
suffer from arthritis, a debilitating, chronic disease
causing the loss of bone and cartilage. Over 4 million
Canadians have arthritis. Arthritis can strike at any
age - It is not widely known that over 6,300 children
in Canada under the age of sixteen suffer from juvenile
arthritis (JA), making JA more common than most chronic
childhood disorders, including cystic fibrosis and diabetes.
The
Arthritis Society is Canada’s only not-for-profit agency
dedicated solely to funding and promoting arthritis research,
public education and care. Thanks to your generous donations,
Canada’s top researchers and scientists are able to continue
the search into the causes of arthritis and improved treatments,
with the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
