Supporting the Hospice of London

Since its inception in 1985, Hospice of London has supported over 1800 individuals and their family members facing the end stage of a life threatening illness such as heart, lung, or renal disease, cancer and ALS. Hospice of London programs and services centre on the client and the family. From volunteer visits that provide support and companionship, to complementary therapies to enhance quality of life, all the needs of the client, family and caregiver are addressed. Our programs are available throughout London and its immediate surrounding area and are provided irrespective of age, gender, race, culture, religion or economic status.There is no fee for service.

A Mother's Story
"I was first introduced to the wonderful people at Hospice of London in the spring of 2007. My husband and I had just brought our 28-year-old daughter Amanda from Toronto so that we could care for her while she battled Stage IV Malignant Melanoma. Amanda was very reluctant to have any strangers in the house but it didn't take long until their visits became the highlight in her week, when trained volunteers offered her Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, Massage and Reflexology with compassion and gentleness. Since Amanda was unable to leave the house, these services were invaluable. Amanda passed away at home on July 8, 2007. The support and friendship I have received through Hospice of London since then has been incredible and truly helped me survive this past year. The programs and services offered by Hospice of London gave comfort to Amanda and are helping me through this grieving process. Hospice has made such a great impact in my life."

RACE START: Springbank Park at Stone Cottage off Commissioners Road.
Half Marathon 8:00 am --- 5K 8:30 am --- Kiddy Trot 10:30 am

COURSE:
Half Marathon - a small loop of Springbank Park followed by an out and back loop through the Thames River Path system.
5K Run & Walk - an out and back loop of Springbank Park.
Kiddy Trot - 400m (loops on grass)

Sunday, September 12th (race day) at the Start/Finish area in Springbank Park, from 6:30 am to race start.

T-SHIRTS & MEDALS:
All Half Marathon finishers will receive a finishers medal. T-shirts to be determined by May 15th, 2010.

DIRECTIONS:
From the 401 take Hwy. 4 north, becomes Col. Talbot Rd., then becomes North St. and ends at Springbank Park. Turn left on Commissioners Rd. to Parking at west end of park.
